How the numbers are worked out

The calculator reads the agreement's own tariff schedules line by line (Annex 2-A of the Interim Trade Agreement), applies the staging category of your product to find this year's preferential rate, and compares it with the duty the importing country applies today. Quotas, specific duties and the special car schedules are handled separately and flagged in the result.
